What a week

The past couple of weeks I have noticed that several of the blogs with which I keep up or stalk to be more specific haven't been updated lately. Most have written that it was time for a break. I've looked at my blog several times the last few days and wanted to write, but I would immediately be reminded of the pictures that need to be downloaded as well as all that HAS to be done around here before Monday, May 11th.

Monday will be D-day around here. Yes, that's delivery day. Baby Annie is scheduled to make her grand appearance Monday morning. I'm very excited but incredibly nervous. In some ways, I think that preparing to bring Ellie into the world was easier than it was for Mollie and now Annie. I guess I'm more worried about the two little girls who will be without me for 24 - 36 hours rather than what I will be going through. The kink in the "plan" this delivery is that Ellie is now in school. She thrives on routine. Then, there's Mollie. Bless her little heart. She is not thrilled with being left lately. She typically prefers Brittney to anyone, but this week she didn't want her one afternoon. She wanted Mimi. As a mom, it makes me nervous to be planning who will take the girls while I am out of commission. Then, there's the fact that Brian and I cannot agree on how the next couple of days should go. Oh, well. Such is life.

This week I did have the opportunity to go with Ellie on her field trip to the Little Rock Zoo. The weather was great. The rain held off - praise God. (It has rained constantly for what feels like weeks around here) Ellie's sweet teacher was out sick Monday and Tuesday. I hated that she wasn't able to go with us on this trip. My friend Tara Jacobs was Ellie's sub. we had a really good time. Fortunately, there were only a couple of minor injuries but nothing to worry about. It's not shocking considering we had 12 4 & 5 year olds with us. ha!

Thursday was a wild day at First Kids Day Out. We were very busy getting all of our Mother's Day projects completed. I was impressed with my staff. They were so good about getting everything finished and didn't complain about the paint. Yes, I love hand prints and anything that is personalized for moms to have as a keepsake. I even did hand prints with 8 one year olds! It was great. The only issue we had was that the purple washable paint stays on your hands for a while and turns them pink. Mollie's class wanted to do both hands, so each angel got to take home 2 special pages. I did Noah's (my sweet nephew) hand print 2x too. The first one wasn't great, so i wanted to try again. Plus, I thought it would be funny for his dad to see him with pink hands. I felt bad though when I found out he had to go to a work function for Josh's firm. Yikes. Fortunately, it came off pretty easily. Mandy said that he licked it off at lunch. :) That's my boy!

After FKDO I went and picked up E as I always do. It took a little while though as the class presented Mrs. Laws with tulips and a gift card for Teacher Appreciation Week. When i got back to my office, I thought that it was a little strange that everyone had gotten out of there so quickly. I had what i thought was a meeting with Cherie (my boss & friend) and Jay (our new youth pastor) at 11:45. Little did I know that the meeting was actually a surprise baby shower! I was shocked. It was so much fun, and we got some really great stuff! I was super impressed with Cherie that she was able to get it all planned and pulled it off without me knowing. :) What fun!!!

I feel for ya. I wasn't worried about the others when I had Elijah... I was wishing they had more school left when he came rather than them being home for good when I got home from the hospital :) They had their field days when I was in the hospital.
But, when Noah and Isaac came, it was a lot different. I worried... and of course this time I'll worry about Elijah.
But it does make me grateful for induction! I always think I want to wait and go into labor on my own (I did with Isaac, but was scheduled to be induced the next day) but when it comes to the end, the ability to plan takes over.
Hang in there... your girls will be fine... whatever y'all decide!
