Living my dream

As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a mom. I can remember being asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. My response was typically a teacher, but in the back of my mind, I kept thinking about being a wife and mom. My dream was realized almost 8 years ago when Brian and I were married. My dream of becoming a mom came true on December 19, 2003; March 29, 2007 and May 11, 2009. I am so blessed to have my three beautiful girls.

My dreams were probably more like fairy tales. I don't ever remember thinking about things my children would do wrong. Instead, my thoughts always drifted off to the fun things like dressing them up for events, rocking them to sleep, etc.

Never did my dreams take me here....

Notice here lower cheek...

The house was quiet this morning when a little voice came down the stairs. When I looked up from my work, I heard this precious voice say something about make-up. Her mouth looked like it had a massive whisker coming out of it. I thought, "Oh, no. She's gotten into the markers - again." Only this time, it wasn't markers. It was lipstick, mascara and eye shadow as well as 2 things of deodorant.

Notice Mollie's cheek/cheekbone and dress. Yes, that's lipstick on the dress.

This is the tube of lipstick that Mollie somehow broke off.

This is the open container of mascara and lids to a tube of lipstick and deodorant. Fortunately, the mascara was just about empty.

The mascara wand and the eyeshadow applicator.
Since Mollie is only 2 years old, I didn't punish her. Instead, I sat her on the bathroom counter, told her not to ever do that again and took her picture. I did what just about every other mom would do. ha! By the way, when I went down to get the camera I discovered Gidget on the coffee table eating Mollie's leftover Rice Krispies. Then, I discovered that a bottle of baby wash had gotten tipped over in the bathroom and there was a puddle of soap on the bathroom floor.
Poor Brian called shortly after this all occurred. He tried to be sympathetic. (He brought home roses to make me feel better!) I ended up taking the girls to the pool this afternoon. We played for about 2 hours and came home to take a bath and eat dinner. Mandy and Noah even stopped by to say hi.
After dinner, Brian took Mollie upstairs to watch a movie. When he went back upstairs to check on our little diva, this is what he found.....

I think she had a long day. :)

I'm with you. I don't punish at age 2 for things like that either. Now if ISAAC did that (and you know he would!) that'd be different ;)
Thanks so much for letting Elijah come today. That was a HUGE help.

Ok, that's even better in pictures. I guess you've never seen the ones of Kasey and my make-up at about the same age. I'll try to dig them up...I promise it'll make you feel better~
