First Day of School

Well, it finally happened. My first baby girl is in what we call "big school." I have to admit that it hurt my heart to let her go! She LOVES it! She is in Miss Morton's class. On the way home the other day, she said that she had had a "splendid!" day! I just love that! Ellie was definitely ready for school. She is loving the fact that they are learning about history. She is just loving life. She starts having tests this week. I'm pretty sure that there's a race in this house as to who is more nervous about it, me or her. Today was her penmanship test. Her friend Morgan told me that they hadn't gotten their grades yet when I saw them at lunch. I love it!!

Mollie took a few pictures before E went off to the first grade.

We are so very proud of her. She walked in all by herself. No tears! She was a champ!! Daddy had the hard time. ;)

To celebrate Mollie's last day before school started, we made Rice Krispie treats!

Mollie started school the day after Ellie began school. She is in K3, and she is really doing good. Her teacher's name is Miss Clements. The first day of school she walked in by herself, found her hook and hung up her backpack. Such a big girl! I cried when I left her. I knew I would, but I was a bit surprised at how hard it was. Brian didn't cry but he liked to never left her classroom door. He just kept watching her. So cute! Mollie missed 3 days of school last week. She had a really bad case of swimmers ear. We ended up having to get her an antibiotic. So, we are a little behind in getting used to routine of school every day. Today was the first day that she did not have to go to time out. ;) We are all super excited! Every day she has either melted at the end of the day (not used to the full morning), ended up in time out or put herself in time out. We are rejoicing for a great day!

While we waited for time to go to Mollie's class, we got to visit with Blake and Brittney. Blake is in Mrs. Perkins' class and doing a great job!

I probably should mention that Ellie's and Mollie's teachers are roommates. Don't you know there's a bit of a discussion at night about the Bennett girls. :)
