Friday Afternoon

Friday afternoon, after nap time of course, we headed to Target. It was going to be a simple trip. I had a few things to pick up - nothing major. Ellie called and convinced my mama to go with us. Thank goodness we did! As we were approaching the checkout, an announcement was made over the intercom. They were requesting that the owner of Dodge Caravan please come to customer service. I assumed that it was surely not MY vehicle, and we went on to pay for our items.

While we were checking out, things began to spin out of control. The doctors office returned my call. My dad called. Plus, I had this nagging feeling that it was MY van they were talking about. I went to customer service while Mama held on to the ladies - Mollie in her arms and Ellie holding her hand.

Sure enough, it was MY Dodge Grand Caravan that they were talking about. Some individual decided that he/she need our Audiovox DVD player worse than my girls did. In the words of Stephanie, my future sister-in-law, I guess he needed to watch Barbie. I'm sure he was delighted to discover that he was now the proud owner of Barbie: Princess & the Pauper. We are also minus 2 windows in our van.
Ellie's response, in her big K4 voice of course, was that this was like the story of Adam and Eve. The people who did this just should not have sinned. Oh, to have the faith of a child. She was relieved to find out that whoever did this was only in our car and did not go into our home.

Oh, well. I have to say that I was incredibly impressed and grateful for the kindness and sensitivity of the Target staff. I am also so thankful that God protected Mama, the girls and me from any harm. At the end of the day, we were all safe and in our beds sleeping. God is good.
